About Us

Hi I am Laura and I have always had a strong interest in all things wellbeing related. 

 

I am a fully qualified personal trainer, exercise instructor and life coach. I am also trained in Hypnosis, NLP and a Reiki Level 2 practitioner.
I work with women in peri-menopause and menopause and my specialisms are weight loss and managing stress and anxiety.

 

My journey into the wellbeing world started, as it often does, with my own battles with controlling my weight and managing my own energy and stress levels. I'd always struggled with weight gain particularly around my middle and with fluctuating energy levels and mood swings.

 

It wasn't until I decided to have my two children that I discovered I had polycystic ovarian syndrome a hormonal imbalance which makes losing weight difficult! This started a lifelong mission to understand and manage my symptoms. 

 

What was interesting was that when I went to the doctors to get help early on for the early symptoms of PCOS like bad skin, weight gain and up and down moods things were missed because nothing was joined up. This is what often happens when we start on a mission with our health or wellness - we focus on one thing but often we miss the bigger picture.

 

That's why when you come to me for weight loss during menopause, it would be easy for me to just design uou an exercise plan but if I overlook your stress levels (which increase in menopause due to the drop in hormones) you are never going to lose weight.

 

This need for a more holistic approach to health led me to start my business Total Body Wellbeing and leave the corporate world of HR. I wanted a totally holistic business that looks at a person's health from every angle. I know from my own experience that it's a combination of therapies and approaches that works for an individual and it has to be tailored to you and your unique circumstances.
